Computer games have been around as long as there have been computers. The basic elements of many games proved to be amenable to having a computer keep track of them. My experience on some of the common "puzzle" games that were available via the Internet forty years ago come to mind. I also recall that many of them seemed to mirror what I later characterised as poor teaching, i.e. guess what I, the designer of the game, is thinking.

For me, the way into this terrain is to ask a couple of questions.
What's going on here?
Does it say anything to formal education?
